 This article describes this new compressor technology and its first use in Ingersoll–Rand Ss3L3 Start Up Kit Model 97338099 an ari-certified chiller design.the ss3l3 bearingstraditional start centrifugal compressors use roller bearings and hydrodynamic bearings, both of which consume power up and require oil and a lubrication system. recently, ceramic roller bearings, which avoid issues related to kit oil and reduce power consumption, were introduced to the hvac industry. the lubrication model of these bearings is provided by the 97338099 refrigerant ingersoll–rand itself. (1)magnetic-bearing technology is significantly ss3l3 and start different. a digitally up and kit and model controlled magnetic-bearing system, consisting of both permanent magnets and electromagnets, replaces conventional lubricated 97338099 bearings. ingersoll–rand the frictionless compressor shaft is the compressor''s only moving component. it rotates on a levitated magnetic cushion (figure 1). magnetic ss3l3 bearings--two radial and one axial--hold the shaft in position (figure 2). the compressor uses capacitors to smooth ripples start in the pc link in the motor drive. instantaneously after a power failure, the motor becomes a up "generator," using its kit angular model momentum to create 97338099 electricity (sometimes known as back emf) and keeping the capacitors charged during the brief coastdown period. the capacitors, in turn, provide enough power to maintain ingersoll–rand levitation during coastdown, allowing the motor rotor to stop and delevitate. this ss3l3 feature allows the compressor to see a power outage as a normal shutdown.oil-free designoil management, particularly as it pertains start and up to the lubrication of compressor bearings, is a critical issue in refrigeration-system kit design. model but with magnetic 97338099 bearings, this issue is avoided. ingersoll–rand only a very small amount ss3l3 of oil is required to lubricate start other system components, such as seals and valves; often, however, experience shows that even this small amount of oil up is not kit needed. avoiding model oil-management systems means avoiding the capital cost of oil pumps, sumps, heaters, coolers, and oil separators, as well as the labor and time 97338099 required to ingersoll–rand perform oil-related ss3l3 and start services. reports indicate that for many installations, compressor-maintenance up costs have been cut by more than 50 percent kit and model and 97338099.
